TempleOS

TempleOS is a biblical-themed, open-source operating system created by the late programmer Terry Davis, designed to be a modern "Third Temple" inspired by God. Built from scratch with a unique 640x480 resolution, 16-color graphics, and a custom compiler, it features a quirky, command-line-driven interface with integrated games, a flight simulator, and its own programming language, HolyC. Despite its unconventional design and Davis's struggles with mental illness, TempleOS is admired as a remarkable solo engineering feat, blending religious devotion with retro computing aesthetics.
