Puppy Linux is an ultra-lightweight, fast, and feature-rich Linux distribution that runs entirely in RAM, making it exceptionally responsive even on older or low-spec hardware with as little as 256–512 MB of memory. Designed for ease of use, it boots quickly from a variety of media—including USB drives, CDs, SD cards, or even as a frugal install alongside other operating systems—and saves all your data and settings back to the same boot medium without requiring a traditional hard drive installation. Despite its small size (typically under 500 MB), Puppy Linux comes preloaded with a comprehensive suite of applications for web browsing, office productivity, multimedia, and system maintenance, all while offering a choice of desktop environments like JWM, Openbox, or LXDE.
